Mike WebberI grew up in Waldo County within a strong fishing and hunting family tradition. As a kid I hunted whitetails, partridge and rabbit with my dad. And he was also a huge fan of fishing, both saltwater and fresh.  An avid Atlantic Salmon fisherman, he cast his home tied flies into many a salmon pool, from the Ducktrap , the Penobscot , the Narraguagus,  to the Miramichi in New Brunswick. I guess that led me into fishing for my favorite quarry, the venerable landlocked salmon. Although I do love fishing those small Maine streams for wild, native brookies.

Boating is a big part of my life as well. My wife and I and our dogs can be found on Penobscot bay cruising up and down the rocky Maine coast, picnicking on the islands, or enjoying the treats of West Grand Lake, Megunticook or Lake St. George.

And speaking of dogs..  They will be a big part of my blogging. For many years my wife has been a puppy raiser for Guiding  Eyes For The Blind. And we’ve been privileged to have a lot of great dogs share our home and our lives.

Thanks for checking in on me!
